Lufthansa Airlines Baggage Policies:
1) Carry-On Allowance:

First and Business class passengers are allowed two carry-on. Economy class and Premium Economy class passengers are allowed one carry-on.

Maximum Dimensions: 55cm x 40cm x 23cm / 22in x 16in x 9in (length x width x height) and Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 8 Kg/18 lb
2) Checked Baggage Allowance:

Intercontinental flights -

    Economy Class: 1 bag up to 23 kg (50 lb)
    Premium Economy Class: 2 bags up to 23 kg (50 lb) each
    Business Class: 2 bags up to 32 kg (70 lb) each
    First Class: 3 bags up to 32 kg (70 lb) each
    Free baggage: For status customers

European flights -

    For US domestic (including Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands) fee is applied: first bag: $25.00 and second bag: $35.00
    For Caribbean, Central America, and Mexico fee is applied: first bag: $25.00 and second bag: $40.00
    For Brazil, South America and Transpacific: first bag and second bag is free
    For Transatlantic: first bag is free and second bag: $100.00

Excess Baggage:

    Economy Light: 1 piece of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg only
    Economy Classic / Flex: 1 piece of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg; 1 bag up to 23 kg
    Business Class: 2 pieces of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg; 2 bags up 32 kg
    Free baggage: For status customers

3) Overweight Baggage Fees:

Heavier than free baggage allowance (24 – 32 kg): $70 within Europe / between third countries and $150 on intercontinental flights
4) Oversize Baggage Fees:

Larger than free baggage allowance (from 159 cm): $150 within Europe / between third countries and $300 on intercontinental flights

Larger and heavier than free baggage allowance (24 – 32 kg and from 159 cm): 150 € / USD 220 within Europe / between third countries and $450 on intercontinental flights

Business and First Class

Larger than free baggage allowance (from 159 cm): $150 within Europe / between third countries and $300 on intercontinental flights
Sports Equipment:

Sports baggage is carried free of charge as part of your permitted free baggage allowance. In addition to your free baggage allowance, you may take one piece of ski or snowboarding equipment free of charge on your Lufthansa flight.

Children aged between 5- 11 years can avail the unaccompanied minor service. However, children aged from 12-17 years old, who are travelling alone, can also be looked after at the request of their parents.

Fees Associated:

Fee for an Unaccompanied Minor on flights within Germany or Europe: $ 75 per flight div. Fee for an Unaccompanied Minor on intercontinental flights: $120 per flight div.

Tickets for unaccompanied children cannot be booked online; they can only be booked through the Lufthansa Service Centre, or at the Lufthansa ticket desk at the airport.
